16GB OnePlus 2 Now Available in India
The OnePlus 2 was launched in two variants (16GB and 64GB) but only the 64GB model was available in India so far. However, the 16GB OnePlus 2 has been released in the country and is now available for purchase on Amazon India.

Along with a smaller data storage capacity, the newly available OnePlus 2 model has 3GB RAM, while the 64GB variant comes with 4GB of system memory. The remaining software and hardware features remain the same.

It is available at Rs 22,999 and can be purchased without invites.

OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) IPS LCD In-Cell display that the company says is brighter than that of last year's model. Below the display is hardware button that houses a fingerprint scanner and can save up to five fingerprints.

The Smartphone runs on OxygenOS, based on the latest Android version Lollipop 5.1. It is the first device to ship with OnePlus' own operating system out of the box. This dual-SIM Smartphone is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, which is the fastest processor on the market right now.

OnePlus 2 sports a 13MP rear camera with a 1.3-micron sensor, laser auto-focus, dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and Optical Image Stabilization system; on the front is a 5MP selfie camera.

The company has announced that its small-screen OnePlus X Smartphone will now be available without invites globally.

Vivo launches Y51L Smartphone
Chinese brand Vivo has launched its Y51L affordable handset in the Indian market, which is assembled at the company's Greater Noida manufacturing unit.

Priced at Rs 11,980, the new Vivo Y51L competes with newly launched Smartphones like Huawei Honor 5X, Lenovo K4 Note and LeEco Le 1S.

Vivo Y51L has a 5-inch IPS screen and runs on Android Lollipop-based FunTouch OS 2.5 operating system. It is powered by the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB and comes with 16GB internal storage and 128GB microSD card support.

Vivo Y51L has an 8MP camera, while a 5MP camera is in front for selfies. The 4G-enabled Smartphone has connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and USB on-the-go support.

Y51L is an update to Vivo Y51 Smartphone which was launched in December last year.
Asus Zenfone Deluxe Special Edition
The Taiwanese Smartphone maker Asus has introduced a 'Special Edition' of its Zenfone 2 Deluxe Smartphone. The special edition of the handset offers 128GB of internal storage and an upgraded Intel Atom Z3590 processor. However, the manufacturer has not divulged the pricing and availability details of the device.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition also comes with swappable back covers in Drift Silver and Carbon Night color options. The Smartphone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD and a (1080x1920p) IPS display with a wide 178-degree viewing angle. The display has a narrow 3.3mm bezel, giving the phone a 72% screen-to-body ratio, and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is powered by a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom processor Z3590 and has 4GB RAM.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe sports a 13MP PixelMaster camera with a f/2.0 wide-aperture lens, and a 'real tone' flash for warm skin tones and accurate color, as per the company's claims. It is also equipped with a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide, 85-degree field of view for taking selfies.

The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with a new version of Asus ZenUI - which has a fully-customizable interface and packs a 3,000 mAh battery. It has built-in 4G/LTE connectivity for faster data speeds of up to 150Mbit/s in addition to 802.11ac Wi-Fi high-speed Wi-Fi.

iBerry launches Auxus Stunner VR Smartphone
iBerry has launched its first virtual reality Smartphone called Auxus Stunner in India. The company has priced the device for Rs 14,990 and it will be exclusively available via ebay for a limited period. Along with this, the manufacturer is also giving the Auxus iWatch Smartwatch worth Rs 7,990 for free with the handset on the launch day.

The iBerry Auxus Stunner features a 5-inch HD display and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. Powering the handset is a 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Its inbuilt storage accounts to 16GB which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The handset flaunts an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera for clicking selfies. Its connectivity options include, 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and packs a 3,000 mAh battery.

Panasonic launches Eluga Turbo Smartphone
Panasonic has expanded its Smartphone product portfolio with the launch of Eluga Turbo. This new 4G Smartphone from Panasonic is priced at Rs 10,999 and it will be exclusively available on Snapdeal via flash sale model in Blue color option.

Panasonic Eluga Turbo features a 5-inch HD display with 1280x710 pixels resolution protected with a coating of Asahi Dragontrail glass on top. The device comes with dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Powering the handset is a 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Its onboard storage stands at 32GB, which can be expanded further using a microSD card. It also comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for clicking selfies.

Coolpad launches Note 3 Lite
The Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Coolpad has launched yet another budget handset in the India market dubbed as 'Coolpad Note 3 Lite'. The Smartphone is said to be the toned down version of the last year launched Note 3. The company has priced the device at Rs 6,999, and it will be exclusively available on Amazon via flash sale model.

The Coolpad features a 5-inch HD display with 1280x720 pixels resolution. Powering the handset is a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The onboard storage of the Smartphones stands at 16GB, which can be expanded further up to 64GB using a microSD card.

The Coolpad Note 3 Lite runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the native UI of the company and offers dual SIM functionality. The handset comes equipped with a 13.0-megapxiel camera with LED flash at the rear end and a 5.0-megapxiel front facing shooter for clicking selfies.

The Smartphone also incorporates a fingerprint sensor just like the previously launched Coolpad Note 3 which is able to unlock the device very quickly. The connectivity attributes of the device include 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and packs in a 2,500 mAh battery.

The company has also partnered with Videocon, as part of which the latter will manuafacture the Coolpad Note 3 Lite in India. This is the first 'Made in India' Smartphone of the Chinese firm.

Asus launches Zenfone Max
Earlier this month Asus launched its Smartphone Zenfone Max with 5,000 MAh battery in India priced at Rs 9,999. The company has now revealed that the handset is now available for purchase on all the leading online and retail stores across the country.

The Asus Zenfone Max packs 5,000mAh battery and 5.5-inch HD screen with Gorilla Glass 4. The smartphone has a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM and will come with 16GB internal storage option; it will support microSD cards of up to 64GB capacity.

On the back of Zenfone Max is a 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus and dual-tone, dual-LED flash, whereas the front camera has 5MP resolution. This 4G Smartphone comes with Asus's ZenUI software, based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), out of the box.

ZTE launches Blade D Lux
The Chinese Smartphone maker ZTE has added yet another Smartphone to its 'Blade series' of Smartphones with the launch of Blade D Lux. The company has launched the handset in Vietnam with the price tag of $173.

The ZTE Blade D Lux features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280x720 pixels resolution. Powering the Smartphone is a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device accounts to 16GB which can be expanded further up to 64GB using a microSD card.

The ZTE Blade D Lux comes with dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The handset comes equipped with a 13.0-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8.0-megapixel front facing snapper for clicking selfies. The device offers 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS as connectivity options and packs in a 3,000 mAh battery.

The company has not yet revealed any details about the global roll out of the Smartphone.

ZTE also introduced the Axon Passport 2.0 program for Axon Smartphones at CES 2016. The program incorporates unlimited out of warranty repairs and total assistance that supports device upgrades, replacement, shipping, and setup.

Lenovo launches A7000 Turbo
The Chinese device maker Lenovo has launched another budget smartphone in India dubbed as A7000 Turbo. The company has priced the handset for Rs 10,999, and it will come in Matte Black colour option. The device is available for order from the official online store of the company.

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo features a 5.5-inch display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution. The handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system topped with Vibe UI of the company. The Dual SIM device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7GHz.

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 32GB using a microSD card. The handset comes equipped with a 13.0-megapxiel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5.0-megapxiel front facing camera for clicking selfies.

It packs 16GB internal storage and supports microSD cards (up to 128GB) and USB on-the-go. Under the hood is the 64-bit octa-core Mediatek 6753 chipset. HTC launches Desire 728 Dual SIM
The Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Desire 728 Dual SIM smartphone. The company has priced the handset for Rs 17,990 and it will be available in Purple Myst and White Luxury colour options. The device will be available for purchase across all the leading retail stores in the country.

The HTC Desire 728 dual SIM features a 5.5-inch HD display with 1280x720 pixels resolution. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the Sense UI of the company. The dual SIM device is powered by a 1.3 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM.

The internal storage of the handset stands at 16GB which can be expanded further up to 2TB using a microSD card. The HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM comes equipped with a 13.0-megapxiel rear camera with LED flash and a 5.0-megapixel front facing camera for clicking selfies. The smartphone incorporates the HTC BoomSound, dual frontal stereo speakers design powered by Dolby Audio.

Google and Lenovo announce 3D Smartphone
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Google and Lenovo announced that they would begin selling a smartphone that can see in distances and can do things like measure the height of your ceiling or the area inside of a room simply by touching a few points on the screen when pointing its cameras up and down.

A culmination of Google's Project Tango, the device would be sold globally for under $500 and have a screen under 6.5 inches diagonally. Test devices have been in the shape of a small tablet that executives said was too large for consumers to use easily.

In a demo of the capabilities of such phones, executives demonstrated how to play a virtual game of Jenga on a real coffee table, and they demonstrated how virtual pets could react to objects in the real world when caught in the phone's gaze. One app also appeared to place virtual furniture and appliances in a room measured by the device to see if they would fit.

The companies also put out a call for developers to apply to an app incubator by mid-February with the promise the apps could come pre-installed in the device when it goes on sale.

Huawei to launch Honor 5X
Chinese manufacturer Huawei has revealed that it will be launching its Honor 5X Smartphone in India on 28th January. The handset was launched in China last year and it will be available in Silver and Sunset Gold colour options.

The Huawei Honor 5X flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. The handset comes with dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the EMUI of the company. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM. The onboard storage of the handset accounts to 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

The Huawei Honor 5X features a 13.0-megapxiel primary camera with LED flash and a 5.0-megapxiel secondary camera to facilitate video calling. It also incorporates a fingerprint sensor and Box speakers. The device offers 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS as connectivity options and houses a 3,000 mAh battery.

Huawei has also unveiled its new flagship smartphone Mate 8 at CES 2016. The Huawei Mate 8 features a 6-inch Full HD display with octa-core Huawei Kirin 950 processor. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and offers 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It flaunts a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front snapper for selfies and 4,000 mAh battery.

Lenovo launches Vibe K4 Note Smartphone
Lenovo has finally launched its Vibe K4 Note model. The successor to last year's K3 Note, the new Smartphone is priced at starting price of Rs 11,999.

Among the key features of Lenovo Vibe K4 Note are fingerprint sensor, octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and 5.5-inch display with virtual reality support.

On the hardware side, Lenovo Vibe K4 Note features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080x1920p) display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone packs 16GB internal storage and supports microSD cards (up to 128GB) and USB on-the-go. Under the hood is the 64-bit octa-core Mediatek 6753 chipset.

K4 Note sports a 13MP rear camera, while the front camera has 5MP sensor. For connectivity, the smartphone features 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi and NFC. It is powered by a 3,300mAh battery that supports fast-charging technology.

Lenovo Vibe K4 Note runs on Android Lollipop with Vibe UI. The Smartphone will soon be upgraded to Android Marshmallow.

The company has used Dolby Atmos sound enhancement technology for both the speakers and the earphones, a first for Smartphones.

Vibe K4 Note presents a stark shift in the design language used by the company compared to the predecessor. The new smartphone sports a curved back panel, similar to what we saw in Vibe S1 rather than the block-ish design of K3 Note.

The standard Vibe K4 Note model has been priced at Rs 11,999.

Netflix set to enter India
Netflix is all set to launch it India operations. Hindu Business Line says, "Netflix could enter India through a partnership with a local telecom firm to take advantage of the 4G networks that make watching high quality video streaming possible on a mobile anywhere."

The online Online video streaming service is expected to make an announcement in this regard at the forthcoming Consumer Electronic Show at Las Vegas next week.

Netflix, which is also battling competition from streaming services such as Amazon.com Inc's Prime Video service and Hulu, has been aggressively building its overseas presence.

The company aloso announced earlier that it was in the "early stages" of its China entry and said it was "still learning a lot".
Netflix said in July its plans to enter China in 2016 could be delayed.

Netflix Inc will focus on developing its own content next year and nearly double the number of original shows to 31 from 16, its chief content officer Ted Sarandos said recently.

Lava launches Ivory M4 tablet
Mobile handset-maker Lava International Limited has launched Ivory M4, the flagship device to strengthen its tablet portfolio.

The tablet has been designed to meet needs of students and young working professionals and is priced at Rs 9,299.

Ivory M4 features a 8-inch HD IPS display screen with 1280x800p resolution and is 7.9mm thick. The tablet packs 2GB DDR3 RAM, 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 16GB internal storage under the hood and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 with and supports single-sim (3G speeds).

In terms of camera, it sports an 8MP autofocus rear shooter with HD recording. In the front is a 3.2MP camera for video calls. Other camera modes include Panorama, macro, Live Photo, Motion track and Face beauty. Along with 3G, the tablet offers USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB, and Bluetooth support. Powering the device is a 4000mAh Li- Po battery.

Ivory M4 comes preloaded with Office Suite and language translator, which are aimed at young professionals.

The tablet will be available across all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets and online platforms.
