Along with the Redmi Note 3 budget Smartphone, Xiaomi has also launched its MiPad 2 tablet.
The new Xiaomi MiPad 2 has a 7.9-inch display with 1536x2048p resolution, exactly the same as the original MiPad. It runs on a 2.24GHz quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8500 chipset with 2GB RAM and comes in two storage variants: 16GB and 64GB.
On the back is an 8MP camera, while a 5MP unit is positioned in front for video calls. Connectivity features of Xiaomi MiPad 2 include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Along with these, the tablet comes with a USB Type C connector. The battery capacity of the device is 6,190mAh and supports fast charging technology.
Xiaomi MiPad 2 runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7 software and features a special Reading Mode. Alternatively, buyers can purchase the MiPad featuring Windows 10 out of the box and the same set of hardware.
On the design front, Xiaomi MiPad 2 has an all-metal body that is thinner (6.95mm) and lighter (322 grams) than the original model.
The 16GB model is priced at 999 yuan (approximately Rs 10,400), whereas the 64GB unit costs 1,299 yuan (approximately Rs 13,475).
