Huawei Maimang 5 launched in China

Huawei has launched its Maimang 5 Smartphone in China, which is said to go on sale globally with 'Huawei G9' moniker. The smartphone is a successor to the company's Maimang 4, which later launched as Huawei G8 globally.

Huawei has already launched its G9 Lite Smartphone in China in May this year.

Based on variations in RAM and inbuilt storage combinations, the dual-SIM Smartphone comes in two variants. The device is available in 3GB RAM + 32GB and 4GB RAM + 64GB versions.

The Huawei Maimang 5 features a 5.5-inch full-HD resolution IPS display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. Inside, the handset boasts of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and supports microSD card up to 128GB. Maimang 5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the company's EMUI 4.1 on top.

The Smartphone sports 16MP rear camera along with an 8MP front-facing camera. Backed by a 3340mAh battery, the the new Huawei supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type-C port.

The 3G RAM version is available in Champagne Gold and Moonlight Silver color variants, while the 4G RAM variant will comes in Champagne Gold and Rose Gold colors.

The former costs CNY 2399, the latter variant is priced at CNY 2599. It is supposed to go on sale starting July 21.

There are speculations that the Chinese telecom major Huawei may launch its flagship P9 smartphone in India this month. The highlight of Huawei P9 smartphone is its two Leica-made 12MP rear cameras.
