Samsung Unveils Budget 4G Smartphones
Samsung has unveiled it 4G Smartphones namely Galaxy J1 4G, Galaxy Grand Prime 4G and Galaxy Core Prime 4G.

The all-new Galaxy J1 4G Smartphone has been priced at Rs 9,900, while the pricing of the other two models is not yet known.

Samsung Galaxy J1 4G comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA TFT display, a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera and 4GB storage with a micro-SD slot for cards up to 128 GB. Rounding the specs off is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 768MB RAM and a 1,850 mAh battery. This Smartphone will hit the shelves in March 2015 and will be available in blue, white and black colours.

The Grand Prime 4G and Core Prime 4G will be in a slightly higher price bracket compared to Galaxy J1 4G. The Grand Prime 4G sports a 5-inch qHD TFT display and is also powered by the 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It packs 8GB internal storage, up to 64 GB micro-SD support, 2,000 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera with wide-angle view.
The Galaxy Core 4G has similar specs to the J1. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, the Core 4G has a 4.5-inch WVGA TFT display, 8GB storage with micro-SD card support up to 64GB, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear and 2MP front camera and battery of 1,850mAh capacity.

All phones are dual SIM, run Android 4.4 KitKat and support both TDD and FDD 4G bands, capable of download speeds of up to 150Mbps.

Intex launches Aqua Star L
Domestic handset maker Intex has launched a new Smartphone, Aqua Star L, which runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is the first Smartphone from an Indian brand to ship with the latest iteration of Google's mobile OS. The phone will be available in black and white colours, exclusively on online marketplace Snapdeal.com at Rs 6,990.

Aqua Power HD sports a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854p) IPS display.

Powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582M quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, the phone has 8GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card.

The Aqua Star L runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and comes with features like auto call record and apps such as Intex Zone, Opera Mini, Intex play, OLX, Saavn, Recharge it Now, Intex Service, Askme, and Lets Buy Intex.

The phone sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera.

It's powered by a 2000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Diamond Studded iPhone for Valentine's Day

Powered by the new A8 processor, iPhone 6 is up to 50% more energy efficient, so you can have higher sustained performance, claims Apple. The 64-bit CPU architecture-based A8 processor is 20% faster in application processing and 50% faster in rendering graphics compared to its predecessor. It is able to sustain performance-intensive tasks like playing a game at higher frame rates.

The two iPhone 6 models sport an 8MP iSight camera that features phase detection. Despite no increase in camera resolution, iPhone 6 takes 43MP panorama photos.

Oppo launches Mirror 3 Smartphone


China headquartered Smartphone maker Oppo has launched Mirror 3, its new mid-range Smartphone that features a 64-bit processor. The phone has been priced at Rs 16,990.

The phone features an arc at the back, for better ergonomics. The phone has a dotted design on the back cover, protected by scratch-resistant UV coating, offering transparent and three dimensional texture effects. The Mirror 3 measures 137.6x68.8x8.95mm and weighs 126gram.

The Smartphone features a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 720x1280p.

Powered by a 1.2GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, and 1GB RAM, the Mirror 3 runs Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone has a 2000mAh battery and comes with 8GB storage along with a micro-SD card slot that supports cards of up to 128GB.

Oppo Mirror 3 sports an 8MP rear camera (Sony IMX179 Backside Illuminated (BSI) sensor), with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.

In terms of connectivity options, the dual-SIM phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The phone has an infrared port that works with Oppo's Smart Remote Technology 2.0 to support transfer protocols for remote control of various home appliances with infrared protocol, including televisions and air conditioners.

With the 5V-2A charger, the Oppo Mirror 3 can be charged to full power within 90 minutes. It's not clear if the fast charger is included in the box.

Microsoft launches Cheapest Lumia Smartphone

Microsoft has taken on the budget market segment by launching Lumia 435. Priced at Rs 5,999, the Smartphone was unveiled in January along with Lumia 532.

At this price, Lumia 435 is the cheapest Windows Phone handset in the market and competes with the likes of Moto E, Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Lenovo A6000.

The dual-SIM phone has a 4-inch screen with 480x800p resolution and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB RAM under the hood and comes with 8GB internal storage and micro-SD card support up to 128GB. This Microsoft Smartphone also packs a 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 1,560mAh battery.

Lumia 435 is powered by Microsoft's proprietary Windows 8.1 OS, which sports an 'Action Center', which is similar to the Notification Center of Android phones.

But what users can look forward to having in Lumia 435 is Microsoft's Cortana, which will do what Siri does for Apple devices and Google Now does for Android.

Lava launches Iris X8 Smartphone

Lava has launched its new budget Smartphone Iris X8 at Rs 8,999. It will be available exclusively on e-commerce marketplace Flipkart.

The dual sim Smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280pixels) IPS display with Asahi Dragontrail glass protection.

Powered by 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, Lava Iris X8 has 2GB RAM, and comes with 16GB of internal storage. Users can also install microSD cards of up to 32GB for more storage.

The Smartphone sports an 8MP rear camera and a 3MP front-facing camera.

The phone runs Android 4.4 Kitkat, but is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. It packs a 2500mAh battery. Iris X8 comes with an Intelligent Flip cover that allows users to access applications like music, calling, camera, messaging and a few other functions directly without the need of using the screen.

The Smartphone also has gesture recognition functions with 'Smart Wake-up' and gesture controls which allows consumers to directly jump to applications from the locked screen.

For connectivity, the Smartphone offers 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a micro-USB slot.

Lava Iris X8 comes in black and white colours.
