Lenovo launches A6000 : India's cheapest 4G Smartphone
Chinese device maker Lenovo has launched its budget 4G Smartphone, A6000. Available at Rs 6,999;  it will be the cheapest 4G-enabled Smartphone available in the Indian market.

The phone will be exclusively available on e-commerce retailer Flipkart . The phone will be sold through the flash sale model and interested consumers will need to register to be eligible to purchase the phone.

Registrations will commence on January 16 at 6pm and will end on January 27 at 6pm. Registered users will be able to buy the phone on January 28 at 2pm.

The phone was earlier unveiled during CES 2015 at Las Vegas, USA.

Lenovo A6000 sports a 5-inch IPS HD (720x1920p) display. Powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdrogon 410 processor and 1GB RAM, the phone comes with 8GB of storage space.

The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo's Vibe UI 2.0 custom interface.

A6000 sports an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash)and a 2MP front facing camera.

The dual SIM phone supports 4G LTE connectivity with support for both FDD 1800MHz (Band 3) and TDD 2300MHz (Band 40) in addition to other popular connectivity options including Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G.

Featuring a 2300mAh battery, the phone has two speakers and Dolby Digital Plus sound.

Other 4G-enabled budget Android phones available in India include Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Micromax's YU Yureka phones.

BlackBerry Classic launched in India


BlackBerry has launched its long-awaited Classic Smartphone in India. The company has priced it at Rs 31,990. 

The Classic is targeted at BlackBerry loyalists who still use older versions of its physical keyboard devices such as the Bold. The phone features all legacy keys including the menu, back and call answer and reject keys in addition to a touch display.

With the Classic and the recent launch of its Passport Smartphone, BlackBerry is in some ways taking the company back to its roots, focusing mainly on the physical keyboard, which made the company's devices popular among messaging and email junkies.

The BlackBerry Classic sports a 3.5-inch square touch display with a resolution of 720x720p. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor and 2GB RAM, the phone comes with 16GB storage expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. The USP of the phone is its 35 key backlit keyboard.

It runs BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 and comes with Amazon Appstore in addition to BlackBerry World to download Android apps.

The Classic sports an 8MP auto-focus camera capable of recording 1080p video and a 2MP front-facing camera.

It comes with a 2515mAh battery with a claimed talk time of up to 11.7 hours and standby time of up to 14.5 days on 3G.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 4G (only FDD-LTE), FM Radio and GPS.

HP launches new notebook, tablets and mini PC in India
HP has launched new products including HP Stream 11.6-inch notebook, HP Stream 8 and HP Slate 6 VoiceTab II tablets, and palm sized desktop HP Pavilion Mini in India. 

The HP Stream is a Windows 8.1 notebook PC that sports an 11.6-inch diagonal HD anti-glare WLED-backlit (1366x768p) display, a 2.16GHz Intel Celeron N2840 Processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB storage along with a multi-format SD media card reader. 

The device comes with free cloud storage with 1TB of Microsoft OneDrive for one year and free Office 365 Personal for one year. The HP Stream 11.6 starts at Rs 19,990. 

The HP Stream 8 is an 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet which is powered by Intel Atom Z3735G Quad Core processor, 1GB RAM, and has 32GB storage. The 4G-enabled tablet also comes with a micro-SD card slot, a 2MP 1080p front-facing webcam and a 5MP 1080p rear-facing camera. It has a 4,000mAh battery. The tablet has an 8-inch diagonal HD WVA IPS capacitive multitouch-enabled display (1280x800p). The HP Stream 8 tablet starts at Rs 16,990. 

The HP Slate 6 Voice Tab II is an Android 4.4 KitKat-powered tablet that sports a 6-inch diagonal IPS multi-touch-enabled (1280x720p) display. Powered by a 1.2GHz Marvell quad-core PXA1088 processor and 1GB RAM, the tablet comes with 16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card slot. It sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. The tablet supports GSM voice calling, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity options. HP Slate 6 Voice-Tab II is priced at Rs 15,990. 

The company has also launched the HP Pavilion Mini Desktop at a starting price of Rs 26,990. The mini PC features Intel Pentium 3558U processor, 4GB RAM and a 500 GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD). It comes without a Monitor, Keyboard and a Mouse. At 2.06 inches in height and weighing 630 grams, the HP Pavilion Mini Desktop can fit in the palm of a hand as per the company. It supports processors up to Intel Core i3. Customers can store more content with up to 1TB storage and up to 8GB of expandable memory. It also offers dual display support with DisplayPort and HDMI compatible ports, giving users the ability to stream and access content on multiple screens, including TV with Quad HD support.

Microsoft unveils Lumia 435, 532 Smartphones
Microsoft's mobile unit has unveiled two budget Smartphones, Lumia 435 and Lumia 532. The Lumia 435 is the first Smartphone under the company's new 400 series of Smartphones as well as its cheapest model yet.

The new Lumia 532 comes in two variants (single- and dual-SIM) and has a 4-inch screen with 480x800p resolution. The Smartphone packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB RAM under the hood and comes with 8GB internal storage and microSD card support up to 128GB. This Microsoft Smartphone also packs a 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 1,560mAh battery.

Lumia 435, which only comes in single-SIM version, has exactly the same hardware as Lumia 532, except the rear camera resolution (2MP).

Microsoft is offering 30GB free cloud storage, Lumia Camera and Lumia Selfie apps, Microsoft Office mobile suite and Skype integration in dialler in both Lumia 532 and 435.

The Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 will hit India and select countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa in February.

Samsung Galaxy A7, its Slimmest Smartphone
Samsung has finally made the long-awaited Galaxy A7 Smartphone official. The new model is the thinnest Smartphone made by the company yet at 6.3mm.

This Smartphone is a part of Samsung's new A series, has a metallic body and takes a spot above the Galaxy A5 and A3 in the company's new portfolio.

Galaxy A7 sports a 5.5-inch HD (720p) Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat)-based TouchWiz UI; the model will receive Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update, the company said. It comes with 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM and microSD card support up to 64GB. The Smartphone is powered by a 2,600mAh battery.

Samsung will offer the Galaxy A7 in two variants. The model supporting 4G connectivity will run on the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor (1.5GHz quad-core + 1GHz quad-core), whereas the model limited to 3G support will be powered by Samsung's own octa-core Exynos processor (1.8GHz quad-core + 1.3GHz quad-core).

On the camera front, Galaxy A7 sports a 13MP sensor on the back and a 5MP shooter in front. Among the imaging-focussed software features of the Smartphone are wide-angle selfie, rear-cam selfie and beauty face.

Some of the other unique features of Samsung Galaxy A7 are Ultra Power Saving Mode, changeable themes, private mode, multi screen and Quick Connect.

Lenovo unveils A6000 budget 4G Smartphone

This year  at the CES 2015 in Las Vegas, Chinese device maker Lenovo has unveiled a budget 4G Smartphone, A6000.

The phone will be available this month in India exclusively on e-commerce retailer Flipkart.

Lenovo A6000 sports a 5-inch IPS HD (720x1920p) display. Powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdrogon 410 processor and 1GB RAM, the phone comes with 8GB of storage space.

Saygus V2 : Smartphone with 320GB storage


At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 tech expo, little-known brand Saygus announced a Smartphone that will blow the competition out of the water.

The Saygus V2 (pronounced V squared) Smartphone has more than enough storage for data requirements, with 64GB on-board flash memory and support for two 128GB microSD cards, thus allowing the user to have a total of 320GB storage in the pocket.

Saygus V2 has a 5-inch screen with Full HD resolution (1080x1920p) and runs on a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, with 3GB RAM. The manufacturer has not scrimped on the camera front either, packing 21MP and 13MP sensors on the back and front, respectively. It packs a battery with 3,100mAh capacity.

Among the special features of the Smartphone are 60GHz Wi-Fi band support, Harman Kardon-enhanced front speakers and a proprietary power-saving chip that conserves an additional 50% battery. It also has fingerprint scanner, wireless charging and NFC.

Saygus V2 is powered by Android.

On the design front, the smartphone is reportedly quite sleek, with pretty thin bezels around the screen. It sports Kevlar coating, which is used to make bulletproof vests, on the back for added strength. Moreover, the Smartphone's body is also water resistant (IPX7 certification).

The manufacturer says that it plans to bring the model to the US market this year, and will be available for a price $100 less than the current crop of top Smartphones, which cost $400 to $600.

Kodak launches IM5, its First Smartphone


The camera giant Kodak has launched its first Smartphone by the name Kodak IM5.

Kodak IM5 sports a 5-inch screen with 720x1280p display resolution. It has 13MP rear camera with LED flash that comes with unique image management software and 5MP front camera. The smartphone packs 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It comes with 1GB RAM and is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz processor from MediaTek.

The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, but is expected to receive an upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.0.

The Smartphone will be first launched in Europe by the end of March.

IM5 has been built by Kodak in a joint venture with British firm Bullitt. Bullitt is known for its ruggedized phone designs, which the company licenses to non-Smartphone related brands.
