HTC U (Ocean) Smartphone with ‘Edge Sense’ Feature

HTC is all set to launch its much-teased U (Ocean) Smartphone next month. The handset is reported to come with a unique 'Edge Sense' feature, which will enable users to perform various actions by tapping on the metal edges of the device.

HTC U (Ocean) will be launched in mid April and the global launch will happen in sometime in May. The report says that U (Ocean) will come with sensors under its metallic frame, allowing users to launch apps and perform other actions by squeezing, tapping or swiping on the metal edges.

The report also claims that HTC U (Ocean) will feature a 5.5-inch WQHD display of 1440x2560 pixel resolution. It will run Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and have a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX362 sensor. A 16MP front-facing camera with IMX351 sensor is also expected.

The Smartphone is likely to have 64GB/128GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards.

Some earlier leaks have suggested that the device will offer 4GB of RAM and have Daydream support. Along with this, the Smartphone will have HTC's Sense Companion AI and USB Type-C charging port.

Last month, HTC launched its U Ultra and U Play Smartphones in India. While the U Ultra is priced at Rs 59,990, the U Play sports a price tag of Rs 39,990.

The key highlight of the Smartphones is Sense Companion, HTC's AI-based assistant.

HTC's Sense Companion is similar to the likes of Google Assistant and Apple Siri.
