Apple usually releases its
flagship Smartphone(s) in fall (September-October). However, it's only March and
there is news related to this year's iPhone(s).
Digitimes reports that Apple will launch three different iPhones - iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and a 4-inch screen-equipped device which is currently being referred to as iPhone 6C. The report cites industry insiders as the source to inform that Apple is likely to partner Wistron to assemble the iPhone 6C while the 6S phones will be made by Foxconn and Pegatron.
The report mentions that all phones will feature LTPS panels. Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display will supply panels for iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6C while the iPhone 6S panels will be sourced from Japan Display and LG.
Further, it adds that the phones will come with Corning Gorilla Glass, the iPhone 6S/6S Plus will be powered by Apple's new A9 chips and the iPhone 6C will feature the A8 chip. All new iPhones will have NFC connectivity and fingerprint scanning capability.
Apple may also use new camera technology embedding an advanced three-sensor based camera module within the iPhone.
According to another report by Taiwanese website UDN, Apple will use a two-lens system in the camera of the next-generation iPhone. The dual lens setup will help the iPhone capture more light, resulting in better photos. It will also add optical zoom capability to the camera, which also gives better photos compared to cameras with digital zoom.
It is also expected that Apple will use its Force Touch technology in the upcoming iPhones. This technology, already being used in Apple Watch, will allow the touch-screen distinguish between light taps and long presses, thus allowing the users to interact with their iPhones in several new ways. Moreover, the touch sensors said to be used in the new iPhones can determine the users' blood pressure and pulse more accurately.

The two iPhone 6 models sport an 8MP iSight camera that features phase detection. Despite no increase in camera resolution, iPhone 6 takes 43MP panorama photos.

Apple has announced that the latest version of its hot-selling iPhones will be released in China and 21 other countries on January 13.
"Customer response for our products in China has been off the charts," said Apple chief executive Tim Cook.
"With the launch in China next week, iPhone 4S will be available in over 90 countries making this our fastest iPhone rollout ever," he continued.
The new generational iPhone made its international debut in October of last year, shortly after the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
While not officially available in mainland China, 4S models popped up in shops there only to be bought quickly despite high premiums being tacked onto prices.
Apple prices for iPhone 4S handsets ranged from $199 to $399 depending on memory capacity.
Popular iPhone 4S features include high-definition video cameras and a quick-witted artificial intelligence "personal assistant" named Siri.
California-based Apple sold more than four million new iPhone 4S models in their first three days on the market.

Market intelligence firm Nielsen has named Apple the top smartphone manufacturer in the US in its end-of-year recap.
Apple may have triumphed over rival smartphone makers such as HTC and Research In Motion (RIM) in 2011 but its iOS platform was no match for Google’s Android platform in terms of mobile operating market share, said market researcher the NPD Group.
NPD found that Android had grown to command 53 percent of the smartphone market in the US in the period from January through to October 2011 while Apple’s iOS platform represented 29 percent of all smartphone operating systems on the market.
Apple’s iPhone accounted for just under one third (29%) of new smartphone purchases in the US from August to October, said Nielsen.
A further 21 percent of mobile phone users who recently purchased a new smartphone in the country opted for a device made by HTC. RIM’s BlackBerry smartphones commanded a 17% share of new smartphone purchases in the US, putting the smartphone maker in third place, and Samsung and Motorola were tied for fourth and fifth with 11% percent of the market each.
With both the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Mobile World Congress (MWC) on the horizon in 2012, most smartphone makers are gearing up for a season of high-profile handset announcements and mobile operating system updates.

According to a new report, Apple Inc. is getting ready to manufacture an iPhone that works on the cellular network operated by Verizon Wireless, though it doesn't necessarily mean it's coming to that carrier any time soon.It has long been rumored that Verizon Wireless will eventually start selling the iPhone. But Lowell McAdam, the head of Verizon Wireless, has downplayed the possibility of an iPhone on Verizon's current 3G network. Verizon expects one to come later for Verizon's newer, faster 4G network.
The Wall Street Journal has briefed that the company will start mass-producing the iPhones that work on CDMA cellular networks by year's end.
But that wouldn't necessarily be for Verizon Wireless. Sprint Nextel Corp uses the same technology, as do some Chinese and Korean carriers.
Current iPhones only work on GSM networks, including that of the iPhone's exclusive U.S. carrier, AT&T Inc.
The Journal also said Apple is developing a fifth-generation iPhone. New iPhone designs, including ones with smaller and larger screens than the existing models, have also long been rumored to be in the works.
